The new design is opaque with a view to environmental sustainability. The bottles are now made of 100% recycled materials. However, the formula and the amount of product remain exactly the same.
• The new bottle aims to reduce environmental impact, while maintaining the same performance.
• The 170ml format contains the same amount of product as the previous version.
• The product can still be used on multiple applications if the components are not mixed.
Even if the bottle is no longer transparent, several dosing solutions are possible:
• You can use the Herbatint application kit, available in stores or on our website avogel.ca.
• Alternatively, you can use the bottle cap, which is equivalent to approximately 5 mL, to measure the amount of gel and developer in equal parts.
• You can also use measuring spoons to measure the amount of gel and developer used.
Yes, as long as the two products have not been mixed, you can reseal the bottles and store the rest in a dry place for future application.
• For partial colouring, always pour equal amounts of gel and developer into a non-metallic bowl.
• It is useful to note on the bottle the amount used each time, using a permanent marker.
• The bottles are resealable and designed to preserve the product unmixed between uses
We have increased the amount of Royal Conditioner included in the package to 50ml (previously Royal cream 15ml). Royal Conditioner is the essential post-color treatment. Its Acidic pH formula seals the color inside the hair fiber, ensuring long-lasting results, enhanced shine, and improved manageability by perfectly closing the hair cuticle.
The new Permanent Gel packaging reduces its environmental impact thanks to the exclusive use of post-consumer recycled plastic for gloves, bottles, and the new Royal Conditioner mini tube. Sachet made from non-recyclable material have been eliminated. Paper usage has been minimized by reducing the size of the box and printing the instruction directly inside the packaging.
Color safe shampoo (formerly Normalizing shampoo, 15ml) is now available for purchase in a 260ml format.
The formula of Herbatint Permanent Haircolor Gel remains UNCHANGED and is dermatologically tested on sensitive skin, maintaining all the previously guaranteed qualities.
Without… Herbatint formulas do not contain ammonia, resorcinol, or alcohol as stated on the back of the packaging. This information remains on the box, but has been removed from the front panel to inform consumers, without it being interpreted as a product claim.
No, the formula for the Herbatint dye remains the same. Only the packaging has been changed.
• Although the packaging has changed, the formula of the product remains the same.
• No changes were made to the ingredients or performance of the product.
The appearance of the gel may vary slightly depending on the batch and shade, but this does not change the final result on the hair.
The product has been tested to ensure perfect consistency and the same results as before the packaging changeover.
• Some customers may notice that the gel looks more reddish, especially for certain shades in the N series.
• We are aware of this, and this is normaland has no impact on the final color obtained on the hair.
• There is constantly RIGOROUS QUALITY CONTROL carried out on our products
• Each batch (lot), without exception, is tested on real strands of human hair.
• Professional color matching tools are used to ensure that the final shade is consistent with past batches.
Nothing has changed in the formula and the color result is exactly the same as that obtained with the previous pack, it is simply a name change.

Name changed from SWEDISH BLONDE to PLATINUM ASH BLONDE
ALL TO CONFORM TO THE STANDARD NOMENCLATURE OF HAIR COLORING
The Herbatint brand is approved Cruelty Free and Vegan by the International non profit organization PETA (people for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Herbatint Permanent Gel is not tested on animals, on compliance with the European Regulation (EU 1223/2009), and is produced in Italy in compliance with the highest standards (GMP).
Herbatint is against animal testing anywhere in the world even where there is no legislation on the matter and does not use ingredients of animal origin. Its formulas are suitable for vegans.
It is a permanent color without ammonia, which covers gray hair for a natural result, intense and rich in reflection.
It does not contain ammonia, resorcinol, alcohol, parabens and perfume, and has a very low concentration of hydrogen peroxide.
Its formula is dermatologically tested on sensitive skin and allows you to lighten your natural color up to a maximum of 2 tones.
It is sold through health food stores, natural food stores and pharmacies in more than 45 countries.
While a vegetal coloring creates a sheath around the individual hair, the permanent coloring gel delicately penetrates the hair without damaging it, giving a natural and brilliant color, and is compatible with other treatments such as highlights.
The Herbatint permanent coloring gel is available in 28 shades that can be mixed together, while the vegetal coloring offers a limited choice of colors.
Once the bottles have been opened, they can be stored for a period of 12 months if tightly closed (without confusing the caps) and stored in good conditions, away from humidity and at a normal temperature.
We recommend that you store the bottles in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
No.Once the dye and developer have been mixed, the Permanent Coloring Gel is ready and must be used immediately. After application, any residual product must be thrown away as it will no longer be effective.
The color of the mixture is not linked to the final result on the hair, which will only be seen at the end of the application time.
During the permanent hair coloring process, the hair cuticles open and close at the end of the exposure time and this can affect the condition of the hair differently, depending on the type of hair and the product you are dealing with.
Herbatint permanent color gel has a formula tested on sensitive skin and uses a very delicate developer, with a minimal amount of cosmetic ingredients.
The 8 plant extracts contained help in the hair restructuring phase, enhancing the intensity of the hair color, for a natural and long-lasting result.
Permanent Coloring Gel is not suitable for dyeing eyelashes or eyebrows and is not intended for use on beards and moustaches. We strongly advise against inappropriate use of the product.
Being a permanent dye, Permanent Gel does not come off with washing. However, the color may lose its intensity if aggressive products/treatments are used.
Regular use of Color Safe Shampoo and Royal Conditioner after using Herbatint Permanent Coloring Gel ensures that the color always remains intense for longer.
The products of the Herbatint hair care line have been specifically designed to gently cleans, restore the natural balance of the hair after coloring and deeply nourish the fiber, restoring tone, elasticity and shine typical of healthy hair.
Being a permanent dye, Permanent Gel does not come off with washing. However, the color may lose its intensity if aggressive products/treatments are used.
PPD is currently an indispensable ingredient in permanent hair coloring due to its proven effectiveness.
The ingredient is highly regulated in Europe, as in the rest of the world, allowing concentrations that pose no risk to the consumer.
According to Eu regulation 1223/2009 and its amendments, the maximum concentration of PPD allowed in the ready-to-use preparation is 2% (after mixing the coloring part with the oxidizing part, therefore color bottle and developer bottle).
The amount of PPD in Herbatint gel mixing is 6 times less than the European limit.
We have chosen to continue using an ingredient that has been tested over the years, keeping its concentration well below the limits.
IDENTIFY YOUR NATURAL TONE:
Start by identifying the shade of permanent hair color gel, ranging from IN (Black) to 10N (Platinum Blonde), which best suits your natural shade. That is the color of your hair when it grows back, not the lengths. This will allow you to determine your initial tone. You can also rely on the color of the eyebrows being quite similar if you are unsure.
DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO LIGHTEN IT, KEEP IT NATURAL OR DARKEN YOUR HAIR
If you are in doubt between two colors, we recommend always starting with the lighter shade; it will be easy to darken later if you don’t like the results.
CHOOSE YOUR COLOR:
Herbatint offers 28 colors, so you can find the one that’s right for you. Try the Color finder to find the right color for you! All shades of Permanent Coloring Gel are mixable, and you can customize you color by combining different shades. The only rule to respect is the 1:1 mixing ratio between overall color and developer.
It is not recommended to use Permanent Coloring Gel on hair treated with henna.
Henna creates a sheath that wraps the hair, hindering the penetration of the color.
It is recommended to let the henna grow completely before coloring with Herbatint permanent hair color gel.
In any case, we recommend doing a test on a strand to evaluate the color rendering before proceeding.
It is not recommended to color your hair immediately after perming. It is better to wait about two weeks and, after this time, remember to reduce the exposure time by 10 minutes on the lengths. This is because the porosity of the hair may be higher after perming and therefore the color may take less time to work.
There is no permanent hair color that can lighten previously colored hair.
The only chromatic result that van be obtained from hair already colored with this type of product is to darken it or play tone on tone with the reflection.
Yes, there are no problem doing highlights on hair colored with Herbatint Permanent Coloring Gel
Sometimes over time reflections of the hair’s natural undertone can show up, tending towards red or orange. To neutralize them we recommend mixing your usual color with a color from the C=Ash series.
Sensitivity test must be carried out 48 hours before staining.
Get a band-aid and a cotton swab. Soak the patch in a small amount of dye and developer.
You can use the two parts of cotton swabs to collect the two liquids.
Do not use metallic objects. Close the bottles hermetically.
Apply the patch with a small amount of mixture to the forearm area or behind the ear and do not remove it.
After 45 minutes, rinse and pat the area dry with a clean handkerchief.
If during the next 48 hours you notice itching, redness or swelling on and around the test area, rinse and do not use the product. Consult a doctor if necessary.
This test is an important precautionary measure that has proven to be reliable when you strictly follow the directions provided. However, sensitivity testing does not guarantee that allergic reactions will not occur in the future. If you have any doubts or questions, consult a doctor.
Put on gloves and mix a small quantity of color bottle and developer bottle in a small bowl.
Take a small section of hair (from a inconspicuous are of the head) and apply gel to the entire section.
Use a piece of silver paper to cover the lock and leave on for 40 minutes.
Remove the film, rinse, dry and check if the color is what you want.
You can protect the contour of your face at your hairline by applying a barrier cream, which you can replace with a thick cram such as hair wax or pomade.
Permanent Coloring Gel does not contain formaldehyde or formaldehyde releases, therefore our formulations are totally free of this ingredient.
